Babe Ruth World Series comes to a close
The 13-15-year-old Babe Ruth World Series wrapped up this past weekend at the Virginia Credit Union Stadium in Fredericksburg, with a team from the Greenville, N.C., area winning the title.
The event drew teams from all over the country, leading to more than 1,000 hotel room nights generated in the area. The Fredericksburg Economic Development Authority (EDA) was a major sponsor of the event and was recognized after the championship game (see photo to the right of EDA Chairman Will Mackintosh holding a recognition award presented by tournament host Stafford Baseball League).
Here is a Freehling Finds video we posted about this event. Congrats to the winning team and all the participants!
