Q1 statistical report released

Click below to read our statistical report for the three months ending March 31. It offers a wealth of Fredericksburg economic data including tax revenue (meals tax revenue up 19 percent year-over-year!), occupancy rates, new business activity and commercial sales. Hylton property rezoned to PD-MC

Fredericksburg City Council on Tuesday voted to rezone the 90-acre Hylton property to Planned Development-Medical Center. The proposed VA outpatient clinic is now a by-right use on the property.    

What's planned for Interstate 95?

Fredericksburg District Engineer Marcie Parker and FAMPO Administrator Paul Agnello gave an interesting presentation at the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance office yesterday regarding the extensive work planned in the next few years on Interstate 95 in the Fredericksburg region.

Hap Connors appointed to EDA

City Council appointed Henry "Hap" Connors to Fredericksburg's Economic Development Authority on Tuesday, and also re-appointed Mitzi Brown. Joe Wilson recently completed his second and final term on the EDA, which created the opening.
Marine Corps honors Fawcett

Fredericksburg Assistant City Manager Doug Fawcett was honored with the "Oscar Mike" award for his longtime assistance to and support of the Marine Corps Historic Half race, which was this past weekend.

Best of the 'Burg winners announced

The Free Lance-Star has announced the winners of its 2018 "Best of the 'Burg" awards for a large variety of business categories.  
EDA auctioning Caroline Street paintings

The six paintings that hung along Caroline Street for much of the past decade are being sold in a sealed-bid auction that will raise funds for future EDA public-art investments. The paintings are now on display in the Fredericksburg Visitor Center. Bids are due June 7.
