Robert Davis and Abbas Haider, owners of Fredericksburg-based Aspetto, both made Forbes magazine's recently released "30 Under 30" list in the Manufacturing & Industry category. Both Davis and Haider attended UMW.

Liberty Place parking agreement approved

The Fredericksburg City Council and Economic Development Authority this week approved an agreement with the developers of the Liberty Place project that will lead to 262 public-parking spaces at the development's garage.

Chatham Bridge to be improved

VDOT proposes to widen the bridge and add an 8-foot-wide, shared-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists on the downstream side.

Santa Train tickets on sale Monday

Tickets go on sale Monday for the VRE's popular Santa Train excursion on December 9. Tickets will be sold online and at the Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg Visitor Centers starting at 9 a.m. Monday. They usually sell extremely fast!

Variance requested at former power plant property

Dreamland LLC has requested a zoning variance to the front-yard setback requirement at 1709 Caroline St. The matter is scheduled to be before the Board of Zoning Appeals on Monday.

Micah opening Community Cafe downtown

In the next several months, Micah Ecumenical Ministries plans to open a community cafe in the fellowship hall of Fredericksburg Baptist Church on Caroline Street.
