City Council approves stadium agreement

Fredericksburg City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a 30-year agreement with the owners of the Potomac Nationals for a new stadium near the Fredericksburg Expo Center in Celebrate Virginia South. The team hopes to begin play there in April 2020.

P-Nats planning 'Founders Club Event' in Market Square

The Potomac Nationals will host an event on December 1 in Market Square to begin taking reservations for the 2020 inaugural season and Founders Club at the new Fredericksburg ballpark. People can start lining up at 11 a.m. that day outside the Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM). Fredericksburg Baseball hats will be available for sale, with profits going to FAM. The lineup of refreshments is expected to include Agora, Paul's and Sprelly.

C-PACE ordinance approved

City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a new program that will create opportunities to finance energy-efficiency upgrades on commercial and multi-family projects. Fredericksburg is now only the second locality in Virginia (Arlington County is the other) with a C-PACE program.

Parking promotion under way downtown

Through January 31, downtown Fredericksburg shoppers and diners will be permitted to park for up to four hours in on- street parking spaces that usually have two-hour limits.

The company recently also remodeled its Central Park location. The Route 3 location is next to the recently completed Primary & Urgent Care facility on one side and the site for the coming Royal Farms on the other. Lots of redevelopment activity!

Fly Fitness opening second location in City

The fitness studio, which has a location at 501 William Street downtown, recently announced that it will be opening a second location at 3447-3451 Fall Hill Avenue -- the building where Bill Buttram's photography studio was located for many years.

Census Bureau leases space in Central Park

The Census Bureau will be building out 8,152 square feet of office space at 1380 Central Park Blvd. to conduct the upcoming 2020 census, according to a news release from Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer.
Retail storefront sold in Fredericksburg

Advanced Systems Inc. recently purchased a 1,132-square-foot retail storefront condo at  2571 Cowan Blvd. (Cowan Center) from Kha V. Le & My Linh Thi Nguyen for $320,000 as a retail location for their pet-grooming business, according to a news release from Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer.
Defense contractor opens office in Fredericksburg

Hat tip to the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance for its assistance in bringing AeroGlow International to a 300-sq.ft. office at 405 Amelia Street in downtown Fredericksburg.

DMV Connect coming to Fredericksburg

Select DMV services will be coming to Fredericksburg at the Executive Plaza (4th Floor) at 601 Caroline Street beginning Monday and continuing on the first Thursday of each month afterwards (with the next date being December 6). Office hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
