Your Weekly Updates
The Fredericksburg Department of Economic Development and Tourism is excited to bring you Fred Focus, a weekly newsletter that will go out every Thursday. Fred Focus will keep you up-to-date on upcoming Fredericksburg events as well as business information. Enjoy!

Summer is ending, but the fun is beginning

The events in this edition of Fred Focus are one-of-a-kind.  As August ends and September begins there won't be a lack of entertainment in Fredericksburg.  A Welsh, Virginia cider, fairy and book festival are just a few things to look forward to as the season winds down.  A Pizzapolooza sounds delicious to us, how about you?  Join a walk or run to work off those calories.

We are working to save our HUBZone tracts

An effort is under way to help communities that are scheduled to lose their HUBZone status as of January 1.  Legislation is pending in Congress that would allow communities in that situation to extend their eligibility by an additional four years.  Unless such legislation is passed, three of the City of Fredericksburg's six Census tracts will no longer be eligible for the the HUBZone Program.  (Although plenty of great office properties remain in the three Census tracts that will retain their HUBZone status).  For more information contact Angela Freeman.

A glimpse of Southern Brazil will locate at 919 Caroline St., Curitiba Art Cafe
