Fredericksburg to be featured on 'The Bachelor'

A Stafford County woman has been picked as one of the final four bachelorettes on the popular ABC reality show, and Monday's show (8 p.m.) will feature scenes of her in downtown Fredericksburg. Pictured here, the couple take a ride around downtown with Olde Towne Carriages during a filming session.
Groundbreaking scheduled for stadium

A groundbreaking ceremony for the Potomac Nationals' state-of-the-art new stadium in Fredericksburg is scheduled for 2-5 p.m. Sunday. The event is open to the public and will take place at and outside the Fredericksburg Expo Center.

Local trails enthusiast Kevin Brown has organized a walk to the stadium site for Sunday's groundbreaking.

Small Area Plan public meeting scheduled

A presentation of findings and concepts for downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods will be given at 7:30 p.m. March 5 at the Old Planters Bank Building, 1001 Princess Anne St.

The restaurant at 1801 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg's Central Park has closed. The space has about 6,600 square feet and is owned by MCB Real Estate.
