Encourage – Empower – Educate
Encourage – Empower – Educate: Fredericksburg Fitness has created a place where all three can happen with intention and positive energy.
Their welcoming facility is NOT overwhelming. It is NOT aggressive. It is NOT loud and invasive. What Fredericksburg Fitness IS… is different.
It’s intentional, compassionate, private, and thoughtful. Just like their staff.
The training is personal – they offer individual or “partner training.” Clients are carefully matched with a trainer that keeps the focus on individual goals. Partners can include friends, siblings, spouses, etc. One of the trainers said that couples often schedule “date” sessions actively investing in fitness, strength, diet and health as a priority for each other.
The training sessions are in private rooms. The session rooms are spacious and the equipment is specialized. A thorough fitness assessment is first. The staff identifies medical conditions or concerns. Depending upon the need, exercises may focus on movement patterns, core strength and mobility. Some clients want to pick up where PT left off others want to train like an Olympian. Each session is an extension of what the client needs/wants – including what type of music to enjoy while training.
Trainers are well educated, which is apparent viewing the many diplomas and certificates on the wall. The documents show the wide-range of abilities and offerings. The team members at Fredericksburg Fitness have leadership roles in moving the business forward, while never losing focus on their clients. These leadership areas include Diet and Nutrition, Staff Continuing Education, Business Development, Fitness Assessments, and more. When the business began, Jennifer Scherer, the founder, took her studio to client’s homes – a service which is still offered today.
WHAT’S NEW – The studio is cooperating with the Howell Branch of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library to offer a FREE seminar on the holistic approach to lower back pain. The seminar, August 14 at 5:30 p.m., will teach strengthening exercises and available methods to help relieve this physically limiting chronic pain.
A holistic approach to fitness and nutrition and the balance of wellness is the goal of the entire team – this year celebrating its 16th year in business. Visit the website or stop in the studio located right off of Cowan Blvd. (happily near Basilico’s).
