Tom Wack Joins the City of Fredericksburg’s Economic Development Authority

Headshot of Tom Wack.The City of Fredericksburg’s Economic Development Authority (EDA) is pleased to welcome Tom Wack, a long-standing business leader, developer, and city resident whose professional and civic contributions have shaped Fredericksburg for more than three decades.

Wack, a Commercial Construction and Development professional, has headquartered his company—Wack GC—in the City of Fredericksburg since 1992. Throughout his career, he has played a significant role in advancing notable projects across the region. His accomplishments include the rehabilitation of the final phase of Mill Race Commons, the repurposing and renovation of the City Gas Plant, and construction of many of the commercial buildings that define Central Park. He also led the development of Liberty Place on William Street and oversaw the construction of the Winchester Street parking garage for the Vakos Companies.

A city resident since 2002, Wack has been deeply engaged in community leadership. His service includes time as Chair of the Fredericksburg Area Museum Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Fredericksburg Academy Board of Trustees, and board member of HFFI. He has also served on the City Building Code Appeals Board and remains a proud supporter of Virginia Tech Athletics. Wack graduated from Virginia Tech in 1982 with a degree in Building Construction and went on to establish Wack GC after working in residential and light commercial construction in Northern Virginia.

As he joins the EDA, Wack shared his enthusiasm for continuing to support the city’s economic vitality:

“As a well-established City resident and investor, I have a keen desire to see the City prosper and grow in the most responsible ways so that the great quality of life we experience here can continue, and serving on the EDA is a tangible way I can assist in that process.”
