Small Business Smart Staffing: Connecting with UMW Students
Looking for part-time help or an intern for your small business? The FXBG Local Loop is here to help make the connection.
The Fredericksburg Economic Development Authority (EDA) invites City businesses to the next FXBG Local Loop: Small Business Smart Staffing – Connecting with UMW Students on Tuesday, September 29, from 8:00–9:30 a.m. at the Fredericksburg Visitor Center, 601 Caroline Street.
This free workshop will show City businesses how to connect with University of Mary Washington students for internships and part-time employment opportunities. Attendees will learn how student talent can help meet staffing needs while providing students with valuable real-world experience and stronger connections to the City’s small business community.
Guest speakers Linda Rowe, Associate Director of Employer Engagement, and Anika Rowe, Work-Based Learning Coordinator with UMW’s Center for Career and Professional Development, will share resources available to employers, ways to connect with students, and practical guidance for creating successful internship and employment opportunities.
“Local businesses that hire UMW students don’t just fill a role. They help shape a future professional, right here in our community. We can’t wait to share how simple it is to bring student talent onto your team.”
– Anika Rowe, Work-Based Learning Coordinator
