A memorable and rewarding first week

So it’s been a week, though who’s counting?

With the “official” first week as the new City of Fredericksburg’s Director of Economic Development & Tourism in the rear view mirror it feels great taking a moment to take share my reflections on memorable and rewarding first week as well as my excitement about the adventure ahead.

It was a week chock-full of nonstop introductions, meetings with key community stakeholders, community organizations, as well as a trip to Richmond for a meeting with representatives from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, and the long-awaited formal opening of The Port Oysteria & Brewery (a must visit if you’ve not already).   Amidst the whirlwind of tons of smiling faces and open arms, it was these meetings and conversations that have been invaluable, providing me with a deeper understanding of our community’s strengths, challenges, and opportunities which I’ll be taking a deeper dive into over the upcoming blog posts.

Thank you for the warm welcome and support during my first week. I look forward to the many opportunities we will have to work together in the coming months.
