Beer garden coming soon to George Street
The Port Oysteria & Brewery will soon open an outdoor beer garden at 106 George Street in downtown Fredericksburg.
The restaurant isn’t expected to open until February, but the business’ operators are ready to start brewing beer and serving it right outside the space (the beer garden is to the left of the restaurant when facing the building from George Street). A grand opening is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, August 18. Hours of operation will be from 4-9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The beer garden will likely also be open Saturday and Sunday afternoons this fall when the weather cools a bit. An IPA, Hefeweizen, Vienna Lager and Blond Honey Ale will all be available for the initial opening.
Food trucks will be available at the beer garden from time to time; stay tuned to the business’ Facebook page for more details. Juan More Taco’s food truck will be part of the grand opening on the 18th.
The restaurant and brewery is going into the space formerly occupied by Spencer Devon Brewing. When it opens next year, the restaurant will feature a “modern raw bar that pairs fresh seafood with craft beer brewed onsite in the 10-barrel brewhouse.”
