Busy weekend of events upcoming in FXBG

Fresh off a Memorial Day Weekend that saw baseball superstar Stephen Strasburg record a home victory for the Fredericksburg Nationals and the return of the Luminaria event, Fredericksburg is in store for another busy weekend June 3-5.

Here is a partial list of some of the things going on this upcoming weekend in Fredericksburg:

  • University of Mary Washington Reunion Weekend will run June 2-5. Click here for details.
  • FXBG First Friday on June 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is part of the new, revamped “Sip and Stroll” event. Click here for details.
  • The debut of this year’s free Sounds of Summer concert series in downtown Market Square from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday June 3. The opening concert will feature Karen Jonas. Click here for more details.
  • The seasonal debut of the free Around the Town Trolley shuttle in downtown Fredericksburg from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday (June 3-4). The Visitor Center will be open until 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer. Also be sure to stop by the Visitor Center (706 Caroline St.) to check out our new orientation video starting Friday, and the Visitor Center courtyard will be open for picnics during Visitor Center hours.
  • Yoga in the Park from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, in Maury Park. Click here for details.
  • The 65th-annual Antique Auto Show on Caroline Street from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 4. Much of Caroline Street will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event. Click here for more details.
  • The Fredericksburg Farmers Market at Hurkamp Park from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (June 4). Click here for details.
  • The Kids’ Fishing Derby from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Motts Run Reservoir. Click here for details.
  • Rock the River 2022 at Old Mill Park on Saturday, June 4 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Click here for details.
