Executive Plaza front entrance to close for construction

Construction work to build the new Visitor Center on the first floor of the Executive Plaza in Downtown Fredericksburg (601 Caroline Street) is under way, and crews are preparing to upgrade the building’s outside front entrance.

As a result, the main entrance to the Executive Plaza will be closed for several weeks starting approximately May 6. Crews will remove old concrete and rebuild new steps and sidewalk areas.

Visitors are asked to use the Executive Plaza’s back entrance, which faces the parking garage along Wolfe Street. The building will remain open during regular business hours during this renovation.

The Voter Registrar’s ballot box will be available in the Office of Voter Registration on the fifth floor of the Executive Plaza during regular business hours and Saturday voting. There will be no after-hours drop box available. All ballots by mail have a stamped returned envelope included with them. In addition, curbside voting will move to Wolfe Street.

The Visitor Center is expected to open at the Executive Plaza by early fall.
