Freehling Finds 1/29/23: Black History Month
The Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) has scheduled a number of special events this February for Black History Month 2024. In this week’s edition, Bill talks with Dr. Gaila Sims, FAM’s Curator of African American History and Special Projects, about some of the events FAM has planned for February in Fredericksburg. See famva.org/famevents/ for event details. In addition to the FAM events, there is an additional event where the City of Fredericksburg, in partnership with the University of Mary Washington’s James Farmer Multicultural Center, plans for a monumental announcement regarding the City of Fredericksburg’s Civil Rights Trail. This event will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 8 at Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site), 801 Sophia Street in Fredericksburg.
