Fair LogoFrom this Friday, July 29th to Sunday, August 7th, the Fredericksburg Fairgrounds will play host to the oldest fair of its kind in the United States: the Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair. Established in 1738, the Fredericksburg Fair is revered for celebrating old traditions, while also adding a modern flair to the fair experience.

As we strolled through the grounds of the Fredericksburg Fair, the abundance of fun activities was exciting. Attractions such as the ferris wheel and carousel were ready for kids and adults to ride. The petting zoo has adorable farm animals that will delight guests of all ages, and the fair even has a camel available for rides (“Watch out, they spit”). Refreshments at the Fair will consist of classic carnival food, as well as local vendors such as Fire Escape Food Truck. The fair even has a beautiful museum at the front of the fairgrounds, detailing the history of this classic event.

The Fredericksburg Fair will also feature a number of exciting events, from DJ concerts to monster truck rides. They will have theme nights as well, including Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, July 30th. Any active, reservist, or retired service member will receive free admission. The fair will also host a Law Enforcement & First Responder’s Appreciation Night on August 1st, $5 Tuesday on August 2nd, College Night on August 3rd, and Educator’s Appreciation Night on August 4th.

The Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair has been a cavalcade of fun since its inception in 1738, and this year will be no exception. Tickets can be purchased at the fair; for more information, please call them at (540) 373-1294.
