GO Virginia Holds 2nd Annual Economic Development Summit in Fredericksburg
On Tuesday, April 23rd GO Virginia Region 6, which encompasses the George Washington Regional, Middle Peninsula, and Northern Neck Planning Commissions, held their 2nd Annual Economic Development Summit at the Jepson Alumni Executive Center on the campus of Mary Washington University. The event, which included panelists, speakers, and attendees from around the Region 6 and the Commonwealth provided insightful sessions targeting local elected officials, business and industry partners, and regional stakeholders on the economic factors facing Region 6’s future.
The one-day event included opening remarks from US Congressman Eugene Vindman, Keynote Speaker Stephanie Heinatz from Consociate Media on Telling Your Story In Economic Development, and featured panelist discussions focused on Childcare and the Workforce, Work-Based Learning, Regional Tourism, and Industry Sector updates from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP).
Among the registered attendees representing the City of Fredericksburg were City Council member John Gerlach, Fredericksburg EDA board members Meredith Schatz and Mitzi Brown.
