‘Huntley Homecoming’ scheduled for Jan. 21

A community celebration of a Fredericksburg man’s recent victory on Season 24 of “The Voice” will be held Sunday, Jan. 21 at the Virginia Credit Union Stadium (home of the FredNats).

Huntley will be honored that afternoon during a downtown Fredericksburg driving procession, followed by an event at the stadium between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. The stadium event is not a concert but rather more like a pep rally — Huntley-style! The celebration will benefit Loisann’s Hope House at Huntley’s request.

At Tuesday evening’s City Council meeting, Fredericksburg Mayor Kerry Devine declared Jan. 21 “Huntley Day” in Fredericksburg and honored him with a Mayoral Proclamation that recognized Huntley’s impressive perseverance and dedication to his profession.

Stadium gates will open at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 21 for the event, which will be held rain or shine. It’s free to attend (limit four spaces per email address), but RSVP is required due to limited capacity. Online registration will begin here at 9 a.m. Thursday and remain open until capacity is filled.
