Meet Fredericksburg’s New Parks, Recreation & Events Director: Jennifer Casarotti

The City is excited to welcome Jennifer Casarotti as the new Director of Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation & Events (FPRE). With 20+ years in parks and recreation at both local and federal levels, Jennifer will lead our parks, facilities, programs, and community events—keeping them high-quality, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone.

Jennifer started her career with Spotsylvania Parks & Recreation, then served at Headquarters Marine Corps, overseeing commercial recreation programs at installations around the world. There, she managed $78+ million in operations, led business and strategic planning, guided construction projects, reviewed financials, and advocated for installation needs at the Department of Defense level.

Returning to Fredericksburg, she served as Superintendent of Leisure Services, building partnerships and expanding services for residents, then advanced to Assistant Director before being selected as Director after a competitive search (dozens of applicants; six external finalists).

Expect continued momentum—great programs, well-maintained parks, and strong customer experiences—along with forward progress on the Parks Master Plan.
