New FXBG mayor, Council members sworn in

New Fredericksburg Mayor Kerry Devine receives the oath of office from Circuit Judge Gordon Willis.

Fredericksburg’s new mayor and two new City Council members were officially sworn into office Tuesday.

Kerry Devine was sworn in as Fredericksburg mayor at the noon ceremony Tuesday on the third floor of the Fredericksburg Area Museum building. That building was formerly Town Hall and is the traditional site of City Council swearing-ins.

U.S. Rep Abigail Spanberger was the keynote speaker at the event.

Also sworn into office Tuesday were new Council members Will Mackintosh and Jannan Holmes. Chuck Frye was chosen again to serve as vice-mayor.
