New playground opens at Alum Spring Park

The new Alum Spring Park playground opened Friday.

The former playground at the beautiful park, which is sometimes described as Fredericksburg’s best-kept secret, was unfortunately destroyed by a storm. The new playground features traditional elements as well as unique features like ninja-warrior-like breakaways, cool climbing things and musical items. Go check it out!

The City of Fredericksburg is interested in getting additional pieces for the playground and is accepting donations through the Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Director’s Fund.

The new playground is the latest addition to Alum Spring Park. A self-guided tour of the park was recently rolled out, as featured in the below video:
