When you start to thank people, you run the risk of forgetting someone.  It’s risky.  The eminent move of the Visitor Center, planned for next week, is possible through the efforts of hundreds of people.

The Fredericksburg City Council embraced the findings of a report by the national consulting firm DMOPROZ, advising the City to expand and modernize the Visitor Center. The City E.D.A. took part and assisted in facilitating the ownership transaction of 706 Caroline and 40+ City Tourism Stakeholders met to discuss a wish list for a new Visitor Center.

Enteros Design, Architects from Richmond, was hired to get the project from concept to completion.  Scott (pictured) made beautiful design choices, and consulted his clients along the way – to ensure that form followed function.  The general contractor, Paddox, LLC’s team (partially pictured) worked diligently to keep the building open while municipal business continued.  Everyone worked hard mitigating the impact and inconvenience to the six other floors of employees – and the public business – that needed to continue.

Fredericksburg’s Facilities Team, headed by Ray Regan (see photo), gave the project impressive attention; making pivots when necessary, while ensuring the project wasn’t delayed the project stayed along targeted timelines. Ray, and his “eagle eyes”, saw wrinkles from afar, and got ahead of them, enabling the entire construction to flow smoothly.

The beauty of the design, and the quality artisanship, are further accentuated via the magnificent murals created by Pete with PRINT JAZZ (pictured above).  The public, and the personnel in the building, are already inspired by the depiction of many landmarks and points of interest throughout FXBG found on the mural in the entrance foyer.

Only a few days from now, the shelves will have merchandise, the travel counselors will have a beautiful new home to offer our visitors a wide-array of services.  The Main Street Office will relocate beside the Visitor Center at the entrance level, and join the Economic Development and Tourism Office on the 3rd floor, 601 Caroline St.

Hoping the residents of the City will stop by and visit us, too!  Thank you, all!
