Water Meter Surveys in the City Begin August 13
Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Replacement Project, which begins in 2024 for approximately 18 months, is a process to upgrade water meters to an integrated system of advanced meters, communication and data management.
The City of Fredericksburg’s contractor, Concord Utility Services, will be surveying all water meter sites throughout the city beginning the week of August 13, 2024. The workers will briefly locate outdoor meters at all city residential and commercial addresses, and may be taking photographs of the water meters and their immediate surroundings, to assess installation conditions when the City’s water meter replacement initiative begins later this year. There will be no disruption of services during this survey. If you have questions about this survey or the AMI water meter replacement project, please visit FredericksburgVA.gov/AMImeter.
