Burke & Herbert Bank opens branch on Cowan Blvd.
Alexandria-based Burke & Herbert Bank has opened a branch in Fredericksburg.
The 169-year-old bank opened last week at 2521 Cowan Blvd. in a building that formerly housed a Virginia Partners Bank branch. This is Burke & Herbert Bank’s first Fredericksburg-area branch. It is managed by Jeffrey Davis, a 25-year banking veteran who has also worked at First Citizens Bank, SunTrust and National Bank of Fredericksburg.
The bank recently hired veteran area bankers Jeff Rouse, Lee Pugh and Gregory Mellors to oversee its local commercial lending program. The Fredericksburg Market Headquarters is at 417 Wolfe Street in downtown Fredericksburg and will also include mortgage and wealth management services.
Burke & Herbert Bank saw the Fredericksburg market as a natural outgrowth due to its vibrancy and economic expansions.
“We’re thrilled to open our new market headquarters office in Old Town Fredericksburg – a market that shares many characteristics with our hometown of Alexandria – and delighted with the convenient Cowan Center location for our new branch,” said Burke & Herbert Bank President and CEO David P. Boyle.
The bank is looking at additional office and branch sites in the greater Fredericksburg market, said Jamie Scully of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, who is representing Burke & Herbert.
Welcome to Fredericksburg!
