On Tuesday, November 12th, Fredericksburg City Council unanimously passed a resolution affirming their continued support for the potential development of data centers in the City of Fredericksburg, outlining goals for pursuing data center development while balancing protection of our natural resources.

Invited by Virginia Tourism Corporation to be part of the Virginia delegation, city staff traveled to Montgomery and Selma, Alabama to participate in the United States Civil Rights Trail Marketing Alliance Connectivity Pilgrimage.

As announced during the Tuesday, October 8, 2024 City Council meeting Moody’s Ratings upgraded the City’s General Obligation bond rating from an Aa2 to Aa1, just one notch behind the Moody’s rating of Aaa and first in more than a decade.

At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, Delegate Joshua Cole presented H.R. 420, which passed the House of Delegates on March 8, 2024.  This resolution commended the work of the City of Fredericksburg and the University of Mary Washington in becoming the forth site in Virginia included in the United States Civil Rights Trail.
